Interior & ExteriorLighting installation

Design, spec, and install — recessed, under-cabinet, facade, landscape, and dimmers done right the first time.

Lighting done by an electrician, not a handyman

Lighting is the electrical work homeowners most often try to DIY, and it's the work that most often ends with a call to us to redo. Modern LED fixtures are unforgiving about neutral wiring, dimmer compatibility, and load-per-branch. A kitchen full of six-inch cans with the wrong dimmer will strobe, buzz, or fail early — every time. We do the load math, pick fixtures that actually dim to 5% without flicker, and land everything on properly rated boxes.

What we install

  • Recessed can retrofits — 4" and 6" integrated LED downlights (Halo, Lithonia, DMF), CRI 90+, warm-dim options available.
  • Kitchen under-cabinet — low-voltage LED tape or hardwired linear fixtures with the transformer hidden in the toe kick.
  • Exterior facade & security — dark-sky-compliant wall packs, floods with integrated PIR, and coach lanterns.
  • Landscape — 12V path, uplight, moonlight, and wash lighting with brass and copper fixtures.
  • Dimmers & smart controls — Lutron Caseta, Diva, and RadioRA installed on the right load-side neutral.
  • Ceiling fan & fixture swaps — bracing, boxes, and balancing done right.

Design first, install second

For any lighting job larger than a fixture swap we walk the space with you, sketch a layout, and spec fixtures against a real photometric-and-mood target. Kitchen recessed layouts follow the "36-inch off the wall, 4–6 feet on center" rule adjusted for cabinet run and island position. Exterior facade lighting respects setback, glare, and the neighbor's bedroom window.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you design new lighting or just install it?

Both. For kitchen recessed layouts, exterior facade schemes, and landscape lighting we sketch a plan, spec the fixtures and transformer, and install the whole thing. For simple fixture swaps we just install what you bought.

LED retrofit — worth it?

Almost always. Payback on swapping legacy cans and can-lights for modern integrated LED downlights is typically 2–4 years in an Erie-County home, and the light quality and dimming behavior of good-quality LED (CRI 90+) is dramatically better than what your old cans put out.

Landscape lighting in an Erie winter?

Yes — we use ETL-listed 12V transformers, direct-burial low-voltage cable buried below frost line where possible, and brass or copper fixtures that handle salt spray and freeze/thaw cycles for decades.
